  Hockey is a fast-paced, high-energy sport played on ice or turf, requiring speed, skill, and teamwork. In ice hockey, two teams of six players each compete to shoot a puck into the opposing team’s net using curved sticks. In field hockey, players aim to hit a small ball into the opponent’s goal using a flat-faced stick. Both forms of the game demand exceptional hand-eye coordination, agility, and strategic thinking.

  Originating centuries ago, hockey has evolved into one of the world’s most thrilling sports, with professional leagues, Olympic competitions, and passionate fans. The National Hockey League (NHL) represents the pinnacle of ice hockey, while international field hockey thrives under the governance of the FIH.

  Hockey is not just about goals—defense, passing, and puck (or ball) control are just as crucial. Protective gear, including helmets, pads, and gloves, ensures player safety while allowing for aggressive, fast play. Whether played on frozen lakes, indoor rinks, or grassy fields, hockey builds endurance and fosters teamwork.
